Welcome to Wild In Britain, an occasional and irregular photo journal of my encounters with all types of wildlife in the British Isles. This last week has brought excellent views of Hawfinch in various parts of the Forest of Dean. This one was seen on Tuesday, eating what I believe were stones from Yew berries that were laying on the ground beneath the trees.
A small Bearded Tit flock at Radipole afforded amazingly close views last Friday as they fed on the reed heads. It was raining lightly, and the wind was blowing the reeds around a lot, especially the ones with the additional weight of the feeding reedlings on top of them.
