Red-necked Phalarope

This photo won't be winning any prizes, but it shows a very distant and very rare visitor to Gloucestershire - the Red-necked Phalarope. This was taken at Coombe Hill meadows, about 750 miles from its usual patch in the northern Shetland islands, which itself is on the outer limits of the range of this small bird.
